1500 words Using the module theme of the state explain why some forms of harmful behavior are criminal but others are not. Your answer should refer to at least one of the other module themes

Part 1 of the EMA gives you the opportunity to demonstrate:

the ability to construct a simple social science argument using appropriate concepts, theories and evidence
the skill of writing an academic essay that draws on material from across the module and integrates material from various sources.
You are also required to draw on evidence (that is, case studies and examples) from a minimum of two out of the four blocks. All four blocks contain material relevant to the essay question and you are free to choose from any of them. You may choose examples that run across more than one block (for example, Grenfell Tower). You should take care not to try to cover too much material. We would recommend that you choose no more than 3 or 4 main examples for this assignment.
