CREATED BEAUTY: WRITING ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS INSTRUCTIONS Read Jeremy Begbie’s article, “Created Beauty,” in Treier et al. Write a 700–800-word paper discussing whether (and why) you agree or disagree with Begbie’s assertion that a Christian account of beauty must connected with the Triune God. In the second part of the paper, explain in your own words the 6 facets of Begbie’s “theological account of created beauty” (pp. 25–31). Are there any of these you find especially helpful to your own understanding of beauty? Are there any you find particularly unhelpful or confusing? Indicate your final word count in parentheses at the end of your written assignment. Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
Begbie’s assertion is correct in that a Christian account of beauty needs to be connected with the Triune God. Christianity is a religion based on the belief that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are three persons that make up one God. This three-in-oneness is also seen in beauty because it is present in a whole entity which has been created by all its parts. This does not mean however, that Begbie’s assertion is without contradiction. The very verse in which he asserts this, Job 41:10, has a negative tone to it. “[B]eauty and the way are vain”, and “[a] woman of beauty and whiteness”. It is rather evident that Job does not hold this opinion with regard to beauty in general. Also, there is an aspect of the Triune Nature found in all things. There are three principles of creation: the Lord God, the Spirit and the Son. This might suggest that beauty can be included in this trinity as an aspect of these three principles.
Also, there is a positive tone found in Job 41:19-21, where the speaker sees beauty under a “God-like” light. This suggests that beauty is not necessarily connected with evil, but rather God-like attributes. These attributes could include aspects of goodness and love that are found within all things……..Read More

The current scientific understanding of addiction is that it is behaviorally-based, meaning that a physical process, such as the release of dopamine, produces the addictive effect. However, there are many different models of addiction etiology that have been proposed by researchers. The following models all focus on the behavioral mechanisms behind addiction and what causes one person to become an addict while another never does so. Scientists believe that an addict has at least two main disease processes going on in their brain: sensory-motor deficits and judgment-impairments……..Read More
What Can U.S. Firms Learn using an Inventory Optimization Model as Baseballs 2002 Oakland Athletics did in the Movie “Money Ball”.
Instructions
You have most likely seen or at least heard of the story behind the movie “Moneyball”. In 2002 the Oakland Athletics had a very limited budget to “carry” their team roster through the season, and they still had to compete with topnotch teams in their league. Some of the teams they had to compete with, like the Yankees, spent up to four times (4x) as much as they did on their “inventory” of ballplayers (i.e. “products” in baseball).
