The two main functions of behaviour are; gaining social attention and accessing tangible items and preferred activities (Neef and Peterson, 2007). Behaviour could happen to gain attention from another individual. Attention occurs through laughing, playing, scolding or comforting. Also, one can engage in a behaviour to gain access to an activity or item. Behaviours, therefore, can be termed as multiple controlled.
