How drama education in higher education develops students’ creativity
Creativity as an ability can be applied not only in students’ professional studies, but also as a potential in productive work after graduation. As students majoring in the field of drama, it is particularly important to stimulate and apply creative abilities. This paper will explore how drama education can stimulate students’ creativity through practical examples from student drama courses in two universities in China and the UK. There is very little writing and research in the field of drama education that focuses specifically on the concept of creativity, so this paper will refer to existing research and use case studies of students creating their own plays in university drama education courses and interviews with current and employed students who have participated in this practice to examine what practices in drama education might stimulate and promote students’ creativity in drama and to document the impact of creativity on their The impact of creativity on their subsequent learning and work.
