Is treatment integrity only relevant for research-based treatment?

I have come to see that treatment integrity is about much more than adhering strictly to the research-based treatments. It involves the therapist being informed and informed about research, but also about the latest trends in psychology and neuroscience (Wickstrom et al., 1998). It involves a healthy balance of modern science with an ancient wisdom tradition. When we go too far in one direction, we are left with a rigid adherence to
