what you’ve learned about psychology to your life outside the classroom you can write about a piece of media
This assignment is meant to help you connect what you’ve learned about psychology to your life outside of the classroom. You can write about a piece of media (e.g., a television show, book, podcast, piece of music, work of art, video, Tik-Tok, etc.), a current event or conversation, an event in your life, something you’ve learned in another class, any other topic that you find
interesting. If you have trouble finding a topic or if you’re unsure whether your chosen topic is appropriate, please feel free to contact your instructor. Once you’ve chosen your topic, you will write a brief (no more than 5 pages, please) reflection paper relating it to a topic or topics that we’ve covered in our class.
Your reflection paper should include each of the following:
1. A brief description of the piece of media/event/topic
2. A discussion relating the piece of media/ event/ topic to at least one psychological phenomenon or theory that we’ve covered in class
-
A discussion about how your knowledge of psychology impacted the way that you engaged with or will engage with the piece of media/ event/ topic. For example, did you notice any inaccuracies in how your topic was portrayed or discussed? Did something you learned in class change your reaction to an event in your life?
Your essay should be no more than 5 pages (double-spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins). Your responses should be written in complete sentences and organized in a well-structured essay. You are welcome to consult outside resources (internet, books, articles, experts, etc.) when
completing this project but make sure that all work you turn in is your own and that all additional resources are properly cited. Please use APA format for any citations. If you have any questions about this project, please do not hesitate to ask.
